Police: drunken boyfriend drove over, killed girlfriend

If you drive about five hours southeast of Atlanta, you will come to Brunswick, Georgia. The coastal town is famous for its busy port and tourist attractions. Brunswick was also the site of a disturbing DUI accident that took the life of a young woman late last year. The 23-year-old was run over by a pick-up truck driven by her 26-year-old boyfriend. He was recently charged by a grand jury in a 13-count indictment. Among the charges: homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence, reckless driving and making false statements to law enforcement officers.

A 23-year-old man has become a temporary resident of Atlanta. He is unlikely to enjoy his stay, however, as he struggles with severe injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He spends his time at the Shepherd Center, working hard toward spinal cord injury rehabilitation.A few weeks ago, he was driving a work truck in Columbus County, North Carolina, when a car blew through a stop sign and smashed into his truck. The violent collision knocked the truck off of the road, where it overturned and landed in a ditch.

Chain-reaction crashes north of Atlanta result in fatality

It is less than an hour's drive north of Atlanta to get to Woodstock. The Cherokee County town was a few days ago the site of a four-vehicle chain-reaction series of crashes along S.R. 140/Hickory Flat Highway.A 21-year-old man was killed in the early evening crash that began when a car driven westward by a 44-year-old woman crossed the center line of the highway. Her vehicle slammed head on into the vehicle driven by the young man, who was driving eastbound, police said.

Georgia woman indicted for causing crash, injuries while on drugs

The laundry list of charges against a suburban Atlanta woman will take your breath away. The 38-year-old was indicted by a Clarke County grand jury last week on charges related to an alleged hit-and-run car wreck involving injuries last summer. She was reportedly under the influence of several medications at the time, and she had children in her vehicle, police said.
