IN THE NEWS: Three people were killed near Cartersville, Georgia in the early hours of December 19, 2012, when a tractor trailer drove onto the highway median, hit the guardrail, and crashed into a concrete pillar. The trailer then flipped onto its side, caught fire, and caused a highway sign to fall, hitting a second tractor trailer. The driver of the second 18 wheeler lost control of his vehicle and drove off the highway.
According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the truck that initially drove onto the median was killed as was a passenger in the vehicle. Additionally, the driver of the second tractor trailer died as a result of the accident.
